Colombia Santa Barbara Estate

Colombia Santa Barbara Estate - Our socially and environmentally conscious Colombian coffee comes from Pedro Miguel Echavarria, whose family has been in the coffee business for over four generations. Santa Barbara, a small county in the southwest region of Antioquia, sits atop one of the ridges in the central mountain range of the Andes. This location offers a land with distinctive and crucial qualities, such as microclimates (due to the combination of altitude with warm air from the Cauca river valley), singular volcanic soils, perfect altitude, and a tradition of excellence in the production of coffee. Mr. Echavarría manages the company with the help of his three sons, Nicolas, Camilo and Pedro Miguel. The Estate employs over 1000 committed workers. The estates are deeply integrated not only with its land, but also with its history and community. Colombia is a country that has suffered from chronic violence in the past that more often than not finds its roots in rural poverty. It is with that in mind that they take their social responsibility very seriously.
